THE DOCTORS and STAFF

All the doctors have completed the Cornwall General Practice Vocational Training  Scheme.  They are married with children..

Dr Mark Gripper qualified at the Middlesex Hospital in 1975 and joined the practice in 1980.

Dr. Russell Bolton qualified at Westminster Hospital in 1982.  He joined the practice in 1987.

Dr Jean-Anne Evers qualified at Edinburgh Medical School in 1974.  She has worked part-time in the practice since 1983.

Dr Tony Shaw MB ChB MRCP PGCE
qualified in Liverpool and joined the practice in 2004 as did his wife,
Dr Margie McDermott who also qualified in Liverpool and joined in 2004.

All the doctors are married with families.
 

DOCTORS' LISTS
Patients may see whichever doctor they choose regardless of which doctor's name appears on their registration card.  Whenever possible a continuing problem is best dealt with by the same doctor.

STUDENTS
From time to time medical students are attached to the practice.  You may be asked if they may "sit in" at the consultation.  Please do not hesitate to refuse this request if you do not wish them to be present.  Nobody will be offended.

STAFF
The doctors employ 15 ancillary staff to work in the practice. There are 3 qualified nurses who undertake the various nursing duties in the surgery. There is a Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist who performs health checks, supports our nursing staff in chronic disease management and takes blood samples. Mrs. Sue Gunn is the Practice Manager, Mrs. Marilyn Richards is the Dispensary Manager and Mrs. Debbie Galloway is our data supervisor and IT Manager and also deputises for our Practice Manager in her absence. Mrs Gwen Roberts is the senior member of staff at the Devoran Surgery. There are 8 general receptionists, 4 of whom have a dispensing qualification, 2 of whom undertake most of the secretarial duties and one of whom is the main telephonist for both surgeries.

The practice nurses perform many duties which include blood taking, vaccinations, dressings, removal of stitches, ear syringing and giving advice generally on preventative health care.
